Investment Banking Workshop

The IBW is a program offered through Finance Connection that prepares sophomores for the intense and accelerated investment banking recruiting process.

​IBW Program Description:
  • Weekly meetings with your cohort to work through interview preparation (i.e., behavioral questions, technical questions)
  • Mock interviews and 1-on-1 guidance from upperclassmen who’ve successfully broken into the industry
  • Free access to exclusive resources, guides, and interview questions
  • Exclusive networking events with top investment banking firms​

Recent Placements
IBW alumni have accepted summer analyst offers at a number of top-tier investment banks. The majority of IBW students choose to recruit for offices located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York.

IBW prides itself on fostering a close community of like-minded individuals pursuing careers in finance. Many people within IBW form friendships that will carry over once they start working full-time. 


Recruitment Process​
​The IBW is a selective program is designed for highly-motivated sophomores. Applications will open in early September, and two rounds of interviews will be held in the first week of Fall Quarter. Application decisions will be released within a week of interviews.

Resumes should be formatted in the Mergers & Inquisitions format. Interviews will be based on the following material:
  • Basic and advanced accounting
  • ​Enterprise value and equity value
  • Behavioral and situational questions
  • Industry knowledge

Those who attend the IBW Freshman Start Workshop will be fully prepared for interviews in the fall. Please note that attendance in Freshman Start will be taken into account during the application process.
